  • Practice the proper use of throw rugs both inside and outside doorways.
  • Avoid wet-mopping a wood floor.
  • Wipe up spills immediately with a slightly dampened towel.
  • Do not over-wax a wood floor.
  • Put soft plastic or fabric glides under the legs when moving heavy furniture.
  • If wood flooring is in the kitchen,use an area rug in front of the kitchen sink.
